Line checks and heavy checks
Aircraft are maintained under an approved maintenance programme. Short checks happen on the line between flights, while larger checks are done in the hangar at set intervals.
AME engineers work in both line and base maintenance.

Train at Redwings Aerotechnique, Bhopal
Redwings Aerotechnique is a DGCA-approved CAR-147 basic maintenance training organisation in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is part of Redwings Group, which also runs its own DGCA-approved CAR-145 maintenance, repair and overhaul organisation. This connection means students learn aircraft maintenance from people who work to real industry standards every day.
Students can choose the B1.1 (turbine aeroplanes), B1.2 (piston aeroplanes) or B2 (avionics) stream, or the dual programme AME + B.E. Classes follow the DGCA syllabus and are supported by an engine system lab, airframe system lab, electrical, radio navigation, instrument and battery workshops, a general workshop, audio-visual classrooms and a library. Teaching and counselling are available in Hindi and English.
Admission is through the Redwings Aerotechnique admission test, or by direct joining after an eligibility check. Merit scholarships are offered on the admission test score. Redwings students have recorded 100% results in DGCA module examinations across several sessions, and the first Redwings batch achieved 100% placement in airline and MRO jobs.
You are welcome to visit the Bhopal campus to see the labs and workshops, meet the faculty and talk to the admission team before you decide. Parents can join the counselling session too.

Why students choose Redwings
How maintenance programmes keep aircraft airworthy
Aircraft are not repaired only when something breaks. They follow an approved maintenance programme that sets out which tasks must be done and how often, based on flight hours, flight cycles and calendar time.
Line maintenance
Line maintenance happens at the airport between flights. It includes walk-around inspections, daily and weekly checks, servicing of fluids and tyres, and rectification of defects reported by the crew. Line engineers must work quickly without compromising safety.
Base maintenance
Larger scheduled checks take place in the hangar. The aircraft may be opened up for detailed inspection of structures and systems, components may be replaced, and modifications may be carried out. These checks can take days or weeks depending on the aircraft and the check.
Defects and deferrals
When a defect is found, engineers assess it against approved data. Some items can be deferred within strict limits using approved procedures, while others must be fixed before the next flight.
Records
Every task is recorded and signed, creating a complete history of the aircraft.
Learning it at Redwings
Module 7 and Module 10 explain maintenance procedures and regulations, and the Redwings Group MRO gives students insight into how real checks are planned and carried out.
