What you study in the AME programme
The basic AME programme is three years and six semesters, taught under CAR-147.
Basic and technical subjects
Foundation subjects for aircraft maintenance, built up semester by semester as per DGCA requirements.
Workshop practice
Engine, airframe, radio navigation, electrical, instrument and battery workshops on our own campus.
Hangar and MRO exposure
Practical sessions at the group DGCA-approved MRO, so you see how real aircraft are maintained.
How the syllabus is organised
Redwings follows the DGCA syllabus for aircraft maintenance engineering. B1.2 (aeroplane piston) runs for 2000 hours, while B1.1 (aeroplane turbine) and B2 (avionics) run for 2400 hours each.
Download the syllabus documents above to see subject-wise details. For help choosing between B1.1, B1.2 and B2, speak to our counsellors.
The AME programme is divided into six semesters over three years. Each semester combines classroom subjects with workshop practice so that theory is immediately applied.
Download the syllabus documents on this page to see module-wise content. If you are unsure which stream suits you, our counsellors will help you compare B1.1, B1.2 and B2.

Plan your studies module by module
The AME syllabus is divided into modules. Some modules are common to all streams, while others are specific to B1.1, B1.2 or B2.
Download the syllabus for your stream to see every module you will study. Planning your studies module by module makes it easier to prepare for the DGCA module examinations.
Classroom teaching at Redwings follows the DGCA syllabus, supported by lab and workshop practicals so that theory and practice go together.
- Common modules for all streams
- Stream-specific modules for B1.1, B1.2 and B2
- Theory with lab and workshop practicals
- Preparation for DGCA module exams

B1.1
Turbine-engine aeroplanes.
B1.2
Piston-engine aeroplanes.
B2
Avionics, electrical and instruments.
Train at Redwings Aerotechnique, Bhopal
Redwings Aerotechnique is a DGCA-approved CAR-147 basic maintenance training organisation in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is part of Redwings Group, which also runs its own DGCA-approved CAR-145 maintenance, repair and overhaul organisation.
