Frequently asked questions
What is the eligibility for the AME course?
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board, or an AICTE-approved three-year engineering diploma in any stream, or a higher science qualification with PCM. You must be medically fit and free of colour blindness.
How long is the course?
The basic AME training programme is three years, six semesters, under CAR-147. B1.2 (aeroplane piston) is 2000 hours; B1.1 (aeroplane turbine) and B2 (avionics) are 2400 hours each.
How do I apply?
Admission is through AMERAT. Register on the AMERAT website, fill the form with your Class XII details and photo, pay the fee online and download your admit card. Admission and scholarship are offered on merit.
Is Redwings approved by DGCA?
Yes. Redwings holds CAR-147 basic training approval and the group runs its own CAR-145 approved MRO. The approval certificates are published on the DGCA approval letter page.
