How to check that an AME college is approved
The AME licence is issued by DGCA, so the college you choose should hold the right DGCA approval for basic training. Ask to see the approval certificate and its validity, and check that it covers the course you want.
Redwings publishes its approval certificates openly so students and parents can verify them. You can also visit the campus and see the labs, workshops and training aircraft yourself.
Beyond approval, look at practical training, faculty experience and placement support. At Redwings our first batch achieved 100% placement.
Training that counts towards your AME licence
In India, basic training for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence must be done at an organisation approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under CAR-147. Training at an unapproved institute does not count towards the licence.
