The main systems module for B2 avionics
Module 13 is studied by B2 avionics students. It covers the theory of flight and the aircraft systems with a focus on electrical, instrument, communication, navigation, auto flight and on-board maintenance systems.
It gives B2 engineers a full view of how avionic systems connect with the rest of the aircraft.
What you study in Module 13
Electrical power
Generation, distribution and batteries.
Instruments
Flight and engine instrument systems.
Communication and navigation
Radios, navigation aids and displays.
Auto flight
Autopilot and related systems.
The work of a B2 engineer
B2 engineers test, troubleshoot and certify avionic systems. Module 13 is the core of that knowledge.
- System tests
- Fault finding
- Software and configuration
- Certification

Labs for avionics
The radio navigation, instrument, electrical and battery workshops at Redwings support Module 13.
- Radio navigation workshop
- Instrument workshop
- Electrical workshop
- Battery workshop

Train at Redwings Aerotechnique, Bhopal
Redwings Aerotechnique is a DGCA-approved CAR-147 basic maintenance training organisation in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is part of Redwings Group, which also runs its own DGCA-approved CAR-145 maintenance, repair and overhaul organisation. This connection means students learn aircraft maintenance from people who work to real industry standards every day.
Students can choose the B1.1 (turbine aeroplanes), B1.2 (piston aeroplanes) or B2 (avionics) stream, or the dual programme AME + B.E. Classes follow the DGCA syllabus and are supported by an engine system lab, airframe system lab, electrical, radio navigation, instrument and battery workshops, a general workshop, audio-visual classrooms and a library. Teaching and counselling are available in Hindi and English.
Admission is through the Redwings Aerotechnique admission test, or by direct joining after an eligibility check. Merit scholarships are offered on the admission test score. Redwings students have recorded 100% results in DGCA module examinations across several sessions, and the first Redwings batch achieved 100% placement in airline and MRO jobs.
You are welcome to visit the Bhopal campus to see the labs and workshops, meet the faculty and talk to the admission team before you decide. Parents can join the counselling session too.

Why students choose Redwings
Studying Module 13 as a B2 student
Module 13 gives B2 students a complete picture of the aircraft from an avionics point of view. It brings together aerodynamics, structures and the electrical and electronic systems that B2 engineers maintain.
What makes it challenging
Module 13 covers many systems, and each one connects to others. Electrical power feeds instruments; sensors feed computers; computers drive displays and autopilots. Understanding these links is the key to fault finding.
How to approach it
Study system by system: electrical power, instruments, communication, navigation, auto flight, indicating and recording, and on-board maintenance systems. For each one, understand its purpose, main components, power sources, inputs and outputs.
Use diagrams
Block diagrams and wiring diagrams make complex systems easier to understand. Drawing your own simplified diagrams is one of the best ways to revise.
Connect to practice
Practice in the radio navigation, instrument and electrical workshops at Redwings helps students see how real equipment is tested.
Support at Redwings
Faculty teach Module 13 with regular revision and doubt sessions, building on Modules 3, 4 and 5 so that B2 students are confident for the DGCA examination.
